Okun
Politicians told to Eschew
Bitterness
Politicians from Kogi West
Senatorial District have been
called upon to work as a team
and avoid divisible politics in
the run-up to 2011 general
elections.
A staunch member of Okun Ladies
Association (OLA), Lokoja
branch, Mrs. F. D Afolabi made
the call in a press statement
made available to The Graphic in
Lokoja.
Mrs. Afolabi said the interest
of Okun people should be
paramount among politicians of
Kogi West Senatorial District.
She maintained that they should
consider the love for the
progress of the land to be of
special importance in their
political pursuit.
According to the statement,
“there is the need for Okun
politicians to put their acts
together” adding, “it is only
through unity that a genuine
leader can emerge in our land”.
Mrs. Afolabi called on the
political elites in the area to
jettison selfishness. She also
urged them to provide the
enabling environment for
aspirants to aspire for any
political positions in the land.
She charged youths to use their
energies for the development of
the land adding that they should
not allowed themselves to be
used as thugs by politicians.
