David Mark tells Muslims to Embrace Peace
Senate President, David Mark, has urged Muslims in particular and Nigerians as a whole to embrace acts capable of promoting peace and unity in the country.
Senator Mark who was represented by the representative of Ifelodun/Irepodun/Isin Federal Constituency in National Assembly, Hon. Kola Yusuf, stated this during the turbananing and fund-raising of N50 million endowment fund at Ogidi in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He also advised Nigerians to shun acts capable of creating crisis while urging the rich to give towards God’s cause to get His favour.
The guest speaker, Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Muyeeden Usein, urged those turbaned to exhibit worthy leadership qualities as well as shun corruption, greed and pride.
In a remark, Ijumu Council boss, Deacon Joseph Owotogbe who attributed the peace in Ijumu land to the accommodating disposition of religious leaders, called on the guests to invest in Ijumu LGA as he assured of enabling environment.
Highlight of the programme was the turbanning of the Chief Imam of Ogidi land, Engr. Issah Olorunfemi, the Director-General of NLDEA, Lamre Ipinmisho, as Serikin Muslims of Ogidi and Madam Sidikat Suleiman as Iya Suna of Ogidi by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, His Eminence Mohammed Bashir.
