Hajia
Zainab Solicits Assistance
for the Less Privileged
A call has gone to spirited
individuals and
philanthropic groups in Kogi
State to help the less
priviledged in the society.
Wife of the State Governor,
Hajia Zainab Ibrahim Idris,
made this call during the
commissioning of Health and
Community Development
Project at Ogugu in
Olamaboro Local Government
Area of the State, last
weekend.
Hajia Zainab said this call
has become necessary in view
of the fact that government
alone cannot provide all the
basic needs for the people
because of the limited
resources.
She advised the well-to-do
people of the state to
always remember their origin
and bring back part of the
wealth God has given them to
develop their communities.
She frowned at the low
response of the people to
the clarion call on them to
contribute to the
development of the projects,
stating that they should not
use their wealth to torment
the less priviledged at the
grassroots level.
Earlier, Dr Ali Onoja,
president/CEO, African
Health Project, said the
programme is intended to
build a skill acquisition
and income-generating
activity centre for widows,
orphans and vulnerable
children.
