5 Thugs Mobbed to Death in Anyigba

“Those who live by the sword die by the sword”
This saying became true when five suspected thugs who were alleged to have killed husband and wife, were mobbed to death by Anyigba community, last week.
Anyigba is a central town in Kogi East which has over the years recorded flashes of youth violence.
Reports available to The Graphic revealed that the five persons suspected to be members of 12-man political miscreant group met their waterloo when luck ran out of them on 2nd March, 2010 in the University Town.
Our crime Desk, gathered that the gang had attacked the residence of a couple, Yusuf Momoh and his wife, Fatimah Yusuf at about 10.20 pm killing the couple in cold blood.
The community on hearing the dastardly act, rose spontaneously in search of revenge which led to the pursuit of the alleged suspects.
In the aftermath of the reprisal attack, seven members of the gang escaped, while five unfortunate ones were killed.
Speaking on the incident, Kogi State police command’s image maker, ASP Abubakar Mohammed confirmed that the remains of the couple had been released to the relations for burial, on their request after doctors had performed the autopsy.
ASP Abubakar who explained that though police were currently investigating the incident, seven suspects who allegedly took part in the killing of the couple have been declared wanted by the police.
The officer who could not give the real names of those wanted by the police, however gave their pet names as Kabiru alias Osama, Alhaji Billa, Bab G and Nuhu Makati, with yet to be identified three others.
The bodies of the deceased gang members have been deposited in a morgue in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
